The main face of the Marion Fire Department is Station No.1. The existing pre-engineered metal building requires a facelift and the department needs added space for permanent staff. The solution is to wrap the existing structure with a brick and metal façade providing a new face for the department. The staff housing addition aligns with the new façade refining the volume in a way that accentuates subtle changes in plane, light and material.
